TEAM FORMATION

YSA will group players on teams based on the calendar year of their birth. Spring 2024 age groups will be as follows:
2018 U6 Girls / U6 Boys
2017 U7 Girls / U7 Boys
2016 U8 Girls / U8 Boys

2010-2011 U13/U14 Coed
2005-2009 U15+ Coed

Although YSA is not a school league, the school listed on the registration is used as a guide for team placement. Teams are comprised of players from multiple schools within general geographical areas, but keep in mind we are not always able to keep everyone as close as ideal, depending on several factors. Private schools will be grouped the same as public schools unless a player is the only participant from a school, in which case the home address will be used. Private school players that prefer to be placed by home location rather than with others from their school should list an area school or list “Home” for their school. Homeschoolers are placed by home address. Preschoolers should list their future elementary school. Siblings of the same age group as outlined above will be assigned to the same team, and parents who volunteer to coach are always assigned to coach their child’s team.

NO REQUEST POLICY

YSA cannot accommodate requests for placement for any reason including carpooling, scheduling and coach/player preferences.

All team assignments are final and will not be changed for any reason other than for YSA administrative purposes.

YSA’S REFUND POLICY

Players electing to drop from YSA may obtain a refund by emailing YSA no later than March 30th. Early notification is appreciated so we can replace the player with someone from the waiting list as quickly as possible.

YSA’S WAITING LIST POLICY

Late registrants will incur a $5 late fee and will be placed on a wait list for possible placement subject to availability. Registrations for the wait list must be done online. Wait list status updates will be sent by email. YSA places more than 80% of wait list registrants, but in the event YSA is unable to place someone by April 13th,, refunds will be issued by April 19th, to the account used for registration. $5 will be deducted from player registration fees to cover administrative costs.
